This Privacy Policy explains how the Ecom Try-On Chrome extension (“we”, “our”, or “the extension”) handles your information. This policy applies only to the Ecom Try-On browser extension and not to any other websites, products, or services.

1. Overview

Ecom Try-On is a virtual try-on extension that helps you visualize how clothing products from supported e-commerce websites (such as Myntra and Snitch) might look on you. The extension works by:

• Detecting product images on supported product pages.
• Overlaying those product images onto a photo that you provide within the extension interface.
• Replacing product images on the page with virtual try-on previews on your own device.

We designed this extension to operate with minimal access and no unnecessary data collection.

2. Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) about you.

In particular:

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, address, or any similar identifiers.
• We do not collect or store your browsing history.
• We do not collect financial, health, or authentication data.
• We do not track your activity across websites.

2.1 Images You Upload

To use Ecom Try-On, you may upload or select a photo of yourself within the extension interface. This image is used only locally on your device to generate try-on previews.

• Your photo is processed in the browser for overlaying product images.
• Your photo is not sent to any external server by the extension.
• We do not store, log, or transmit your photo to any third party.

2.2 Local Preferences and Settings

The extension may store non-personal preferences locally on your device using the Chrome storage API, such as:

• Last used overlay settings (size, position, opacity).
• Basic configuration preferences for the extension UI.

This data is stored locally in your browser and is used only to improve your experience when you use the extension again. It is not used for tracking and is not shared with us or any third party.

3. How Permissions Are Used

3.1 activeTab

The activeTab permission allows the extension to temporarily access the currently active tab after you interact with the extension. This is used to:

• Read product images on the active e-commerce product page.
• Replace them with your virtual try-on previews.

The extension does not read or store unrelated content from other tabs or pages.

3.2 storage

The storage permission is used only to store local preferences (such as overlay settings) on your device. No PII or browsing history is stored.

3.3 scripting

The scripting permission is required to inject scripts into supported product pages so that:

• Product images can be detected.
• The page can display the generated try-on images in place of the original product images.

The scripts only interact with the relevant page elements needed to provide the try-on experience.

3.4 Host Permissions (e.g., myntra.com, snitch.co.in)

Host permissions are required so the extension can operate on supported e-commerce websites. This is limited to:

• Reading product image elements on those specific domains.
• Displaying generated try-on previews on those pages.

The extension does not use these permissions to collect or log your browsing behavior across the web.

4. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell, rent, or trade any data to third parties.

Specifically:

• We do not share user data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not transfer user data to third parties except as necessary if required by law (for example, to comply with a valid legal process).

5. Third-Party Services

Ecom Try-On does not integrate any analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising networks. The extension does not send your images or browsing content to any third-party service for processing or storage.

6. Data Security

Because the extension does not transmit your data to external servers, the primary protection for your information is that it remains under your own control on your device.

You can further protect your data by:

• Using a secure, up-to-date browser.
• Managing your extension settings in the browser.
• Removing stored data by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension data in your browser settings.

7. Children’s Privacy

Ecom Try-On is not directed to children under the age of 13 and is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
